Thermador Appliance Repair in Portland, Oregon
Thermador makes the whole kitchen: professional ranges with star burners, wall ovens, column refrigerators and dishwashers. Mend My Appliance repairs Thermador appliances at home across the Portland metro area.
We are an independent service, not a part of Thermador. You get the diagnosis and the price before any repair begins.
Thermador ranges and rangetops
Pro ranges in gas and dual fuel, rangetops, and the star burners that are the mark of the brand.
What we repair
- Star burner igniters, spark modules and burner switches
- Simmer burners that do not relight
- Oven igniters, elements and temperature sensors
- Door hinges and door locks
- Control boards and displays
Thermador cooktops
Gas cooktops, and induction cooktops with large free cooking zones. On induction: a zone that does not detect the pan, a cooktop that shuts off under load, an error code, or a fan that has become loud.
Thermador wall ovens
Single and double wall ovens, steam ovens and speed ovens: no heat or slow preheating, a convection fan that has failed, a door that stays locked after self-clean, a control panel that does not answer.
Thermador refrigerators
Built-in column refrigerators, freezers and wine columns, and built-in bottom-freezer models. A column that runs warm, an ice maker that has stopped, a door alarm, a display fault. The condenser of a built-in clogs with dust like any other, and compressor and sealed-system work is done in place.
Thermador dishwashers
Thermador dishwashers share their design with Bosch, and so do their faults: water left in the tub, a leak caught by the sensor in the base, a wash that leaves the dishes dirty, an error code on the display.
Common Thermador problems
A simmer burner clicks and relights every few seconds
On the extra-low simmer settings this is by design: the burner cycles off and on to hold a very low heat. A burner that clicks on a normal setting, or never lights, is a fault.
A star burner will not light
Ports blocked by a spill, a cap that is not seated, a cracked igniter or a spark module.
The oven does not heat, or shows an error after self-clean
A thermal fuse, a door lock or a control board that did not survive the heat of the cycle; on a gas oven, a weak igniter.
A column refrigerator runs warm
A condenser that needs cleaning first, then the fans, the defrost system and the door seal.
The dishwasher shows an error and stops
Most often a drain fault, or water in the base that has tripped the leak protection.
If you smell gas
If you smell gas, do not light anything and do not touch a switch. Leave the home and call your gas utility or 911 from outside.
Thermador's own warranty
If your appliance is only a few years old, check Thermador's warranty first. A repair that is still covered is Thermador's to arrange through its own service network, which we are not part of. We do not do warranty repairs on Thermador's behalf, and we will tell you when a repair looks covered.
Finding the model and serial number
On a range it is behind the kick panel or under the front edge; on a wall oven or a dishwasher, on the frame inside the door; on a column, inside along the top or the side wall. Have the numbers ready when you book: parts are ordered by them.
How a Thermador repair visit works
- Book online: choose the appliance, describe the problem and pick up to three times that suit you.
- We confirm one of your times by phone or text. You are not booked until we do.
- We come to your home, test the appliance and find the cause.
- You get the price before any repair begins. We repair it with your approval; if a part has to be ordered, we come back to fit it.
The diagnostic visit costs $90. If you go ahead with the repair, the $90 is applied toward it; if you decide not to repair, the $90 covers the diagnosis.
Our work and the parts we install carry a 90-day warranty. The terms are printed on your invoice.
Where we work
We come to homes across the Portland metro area in Oregon, among them Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin and Lake Oswego. Enter your ZIP code when you book and the form checks it right away.
