High-End and Built-In Appliance Repair in Portland, Oregon
A professional range, a column refrigerator or a panel-ready dishwasher is built to be repaired, not replaced, and replacing one usually means touching the cabinets around it. Mend My Appliance repairs high-end and built-in appliances at home across the Portland metro area.
The work asks for more care than a freestanding appliance does: custom panels, tight niches, stone counters, parts ordered by serial number. This page says what we repair and how.
High-end appliances we repair
Built-in refrigeration
Built-in and column refrigerators and freezers, undercounter refrigerators, wine storage and ice makers, including compressor and sealed-system work.

Laundry
Premium front-load washers and dryers, including compact and stacked pairs.
Ventilation and microwaves
Range hoods, built-in microwaves and microwave drawers.
What is different about a premium appliance
- It is installed, not just placed. Panels, trim kits and anti-tip brackets come off and go back the way they were.
- The surroundings cost as much as the machine. Floors, counters and cabinet faces are protected before anything moves.
- Parts are specific. They are ordered by model and serial number, and some take a week or more, so a first visit often ends with a diagnosis, a price and a part on order.
- The electronics go deeper. Most of these appliances keep a history of faults and have a service mode, which is read before any part is changed.
- It is worth more repairs. A premium appliance is built to serve far longer than a mass-market one, and its replacement costs far more, so repairing it makes sense at an age when an ordinary one would be replaced.
Premium brands we repair
Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Miele, Monogram, Thermador, JennAir, Fisher & Paykel, Dacor, Asko, Bertazzoni, Smeg, Cove, Gaggenau, Liebherr, BlueStar and U-Line.
Mend My Appliance is an independent appliance repair company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the manufacturers of the appliances we repair. Their names belong to their owners. We do not do warranty repairs on a manufacturer's behalf: if your appliance is still under its maker's warranty, call the maker first.
Sub-Zero and Wolf
They are sold together and often stand in the same kitchen: Sub-Zero for refrigeration, Wolf for cooking. One visit can cover both: name both appliances when you book.
Cove dishwashers
Cove is the dishwasher from the company behind Sub-Zero and Wolf, and it is usually fitted behind a cabinet panel. We repair Cove dishwashers: drain, wash and drying faults, leaks caught by the sensor in the base, and door and panel adjustment.

Credentials
EPA Section 608 Certified Technician
Built-in refrigeration becomes refrigerant work as soon as the sealed system is opened. Section 608 of the Clean Air Act requires the person who does that work to hold this credential. It is not a credential from any maker of appliances, and we do not claim one.
How the visit works
- Book online: choose the appliance, describe the problem and pick up to three times that suit you.
- We confirm one of your times by phone or text. You are not booked until we do.
- We come to your home, test the appliance and find the cause.
- You get the price before any repair begins. We repair it with your approval; if a part has to be ordered, we come back to fit it.
The diagnostic visit costs $90. If you go ahead with the repair, the $90 is applied toward it; if you decide not to repair, the $90 covers the diagnosis.
Our work and the parts we install carry a 90-day warranty. The terms are printed on your invoice.
